Privacy Policy

Le Nordik Réserve Boréale is a 140-acre outdoor estate located at 175 rue Parent Sud in Bégin, in the Saguenay region of Quebec. We offer accommodation, camping, a 9-hole golf course and outdoor activities in every season.

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website, why we collect it, how we protect it and what your rights are. It was written in accordance with Quebec's Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information, commonly known as Law 25.

We only collect the information we genuinely need in order to answer your request.

Information you provide to us. When you fill out the form on our Contact page, we collect:

• your full name (required);
• your email address (required);
• your telephone number (optional);
• the subject of your request, for example accommodation, camping, golf or a special event;
• the content of your message, including a description of your project or your stay if you choose to share it with us.

Information collected automatically. Like any website, our site and the technical services it relies on may record certain information when you visit:

• your IP address;
• the type and version of your browser as well as your operating system;
• the pages you view and the date and time of your visit;
• the page or search engine that led you to us;
• the information contained in the cookies described in section 8.

We use your information solely for the following purposes:

• to answer your questions and your requests for a quote or a reservation;
• to prepare an offer suited to your stay, your round of golf or your event;
• to communicate with you by email or telephone about your request;
• to keep our website working properly, securely and reliably;
• to meet our legal obligations.

We never sell your personal information and we do not use it to send you commercial messages you did not ask for.

By voluntarily filling out and submitting the form on our site, you consent to our using the information provided in order to process your request. Required fields are clearly marked and you remain free to leave the optional fields blank.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge, by writing to us at info@reservelenordik.com or by calling us at +1 (418) 672-4226. We will then stop using your information and will destroy it, unless a legal obligation requires us to keep it longer. Please note that withdrawing your consent may prevent us from following up on a request that is already under way.

We do not share your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes. Some technical providers are, however, involved in the operation of the site:

• Formspree handles the submission of the contact form. The information you enter in the form passes through this service before reaching us by email. Formspree is a company based in the United States, so your information may be processed outside Quebec, where the applicable personal information protection laws differ from Quebec's.
• Webflow was used to design the website.
• Web Hosting Canada (WHC) hosts the site.
• Réservit is the online booking platform our Book buttons point to. When you click one of those buttons, you leave our site and the information you provide to Réservit is governed by that company's privacy policy.
• Google Fonts and the content delivery network that hosts the site's JavaScript library receive your IP address when the fonts and scripts needed to display the pages are loaded.

We may also disclose your information where the law requires it or in order to assert our rights.

We keep quote requests and messages received through our form for 12 months from our last exchange with you. This period allows us to follow up and to retrieve the history of a request if you contact us again.

At the end of that period, the information is destroyed. Emails and electronic files are deleted from our inboxes, our folders and the associated trash folders. Printed documents, if any, are shredded. Where a legal or accounting obligation requires longer retention, for example for a contract or an invoice, we keep only the information covered by that obligation, for the prescribed period.

Cookies are small files placed on your device by the sites you visit. They are used, among other things, to make pages work properly and to remember certain technical choices.

Our site uses no advertising cookies and we have not integrated any audience measurement tool into it. Technical cookies may nonetheless be placed by the external services listed in section 6, which are required in order to display the site.

You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge all offer a privacy settings section that lets you block cookies, clear them or be warned before they are placed. Blocking certain cookies could affect how the site displays.

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information:

• the site is served over HTTPS, which encrypts the data exchanged between your browser and the server, including the content of the form;
• access to the requests we receive is limited to the members of our team who need to see them in order to reply;
• the accounts used to consult those requests are protected by separate passwords;
• we do not store any banking information or credit card numbers on our website.

No transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Should a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury occur, we would inform you and notify the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, as the law requires.

Law 25 grants you several rights with respect to the personal information we hold about you:

• Access: obtain confirmation that we hold information about you and consult its content.
• Correction: have information corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous.
• Withdrawal of consent: withdraw your consent to the use of your information, as described in section 5.
• De-indexing: request that the dissemination of personal information about you cease, or that a hyperlink giving access to it be de-indexed, in the cases provided for by law.
• Portability: receive, in a structured and commonly used technological format, the computerized information you have provided to us.

To exercise one of these rights, write to us at info@reservelenordik.com or call us at +1 (418) 672-4226. In order to protect your privacy, we may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We will reply to you in writing within a maximum of 30 days of receiving your request. If we refuse your request, we will explain the reasons and let you know what recourse is available.

If our reply does not satisfy you, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, the body responsible for overseeing the protection of personal information in the province. You will find the procedure and the forms on its website: www.cai.gouv.qc.ca.

We may change this policy to reflect developments in our business, our tools or the law. The version shown on this page is always the version in force, and the date it was last updated appears in section 1. We invite you to check it from time to time. If a significant change affects the way we use your information, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
